08 Oct P.E.I. project that’s recording Island bat population is hearing grounds for optimism

Bats are making a comeback on P.E.I. as watershed groups create safe spaces for them to thrive. Using acoustic monitoring, researchers have detected endangered species like the little brown and northern myotis in habitats like old sandstone wells.
These wells provide ideal conditions for bats to hibernate, helping them avoid white-nose syndrome. Efforts continue to protect these vulnerable populations and expand their habitats across the Island.
